    By admin | August 3, 2010

    Lab Requirements:

    1. Set the enable password of the switch again.

    2. The original configurations will not be lost.

    Lab Process:

    1. Turn the switch off and reboot it. Hold down the mode button when rebooting the switch.

2.>dir flash: Note that there is “:” after the word “flash”.

3.rename flash:config.text flash:config.old Rename the original configuration file config.old. If you delete config.text directly, the original configurations will be lost.

    4.flash_init Delete the configuration file.

    5.boot Reboot the switch.

Continue with configuration dialog?[yes/no]: no      / Discontinue with configuration dialog.

    Switch#rename flash:config.old flash:config.text     / Rename the configuration file.

    Destination filename[running-config]? running-config

    Router#configure terminal

Router(config)#enable password pass4sure      / Set the enable password again.

    Router#copy running-config startup-config     / Save the configurations.
