Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA®) validates the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size route and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. CCNA curriculum includes basic mitigation of security threats, introduction to wireless networking concepts and terminology, and performance-based skills. This new curriculum also includes (but is not limited to) the use of these protocols: IP, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Serial Line Interface Protocol Frame Relay, Routing Information Protocol Version 2 (RIPv2),VLANs, Ethernet, access control lists (ACLs).
Here is a list of resources that I have put together from several posts regarding what people are using as they prepare for their exams. Hopefully someone will find it useful. I will update as time allows and if someone suggests a change. I will be going through the many posts on this site to gather what users are finding in regards to usability and accuracy. I do not want to post any sites that would be considered as a brain dump. Some of the sites may include some older information, but also have valid information. If there is a site here that is known to have faulty information or braindump like qualities, please let me know. I am trying to go through them as completely as I can.

http://www.thebryantadvantage.com/ from the site: To: All CCNA candidates From: Chris Bryant, CCIE #12933 Dear CCNA Candidate, The hardest thing about going after your CCNA certification is choosing which of the many study guides and practice exams to use. Throw in a "router simulator", an expensive piece of software pretending to be a router, and you’re looking at hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. Worse, many of the study guides available today are either incomplete, hard to read, or both! Now everything you need to earn your Cisco CCNA certification is right here, waiting for you to download in minutes after your order… The Ultimate CCNA Study Package.
http://www.boson.com/ Boson offers two certification-focused products, NetSim for CCNA and NetSim for CCNP. Each supports the technologies and skills needed for the respective certification. No other router simulator offers this much versatility and support. Boson NetSim also includes a comprehensive lab menu that contains lessons and labs covering routing protocols, Cisco® devices, switching, topological design, and much more.
http://www.semsim.com/ SemSim is internationally acclaimed Cisco CCNA exam router simulation software that helps aspiring candidates prepare for the Cisco Certified Network Associate certification exam. Not only does it provide an understanding of networking concepts – through router simulation based virtual labs and practice tests, but also recreates an environment for real-life network configuration practice.
http://networksims.com/ The full network simulator package (Premium) contains a full range of Cisco simulators, including a router, switch, wireless access point (Cisco Aironet 1200) and PIX/ASA firewall (Version 6.x and Version 7.x). It costs just $38 (£20/€25) per machine for NetworkSims Basic, $48 for NetworkSims Standard and $58 for NetworkSims Premium (which includes two licenses). It includes various topologies, and fault-finding challenges, along with fun activities.
http://www.routersim.com/ RouterSim’s Network Visualizer® 6.0 is a CCNATM router and network simulator that allows you to design, build and configure your own network. This is an excellent tool to use in preparing for the 640-802 exam.
http://www.gns3.net/ from the site: h3. What is GNS3 ? GNS3 is a graphical network simulator that allows simulation of complex networks. To allow complete simulations, GNS3 is strongly linked with : * Dynamips, the core program that allows Cisco IOS emulation. * Dynagen, a text-based front-end for Dynamips. * Pemu, a Cisco PIX firewall emulator based on Qemu. GNS3 is an excellent complementary tool to real labs for Cisco network engineers, administrators and people wanting to pass certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIP or CCIE. It can also be used to experiment features of Cisco IOS or to check configurations that need to be deployed later on real routers. This project is an open source, free program that may be used on multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and MacOS X. –
http://www.ipflow.utc.fr/index.php/Cisco_7200_Simulator from the site: I started in August 2005 a project to emulate a Cisco 7200 on a traditionnal PC. Now, it also supports Cisco 3600 series (3620, 3640 and 3660), 3700 series (3725, 3745) and 2600 series (2610 to 2650XM, 2691). The goals of this emulator are mainly: * To be used as a training platform, with software used in real world. It would allow people to become more familiar with Cisco devices, Cisco being the world leader in networking technologies ; * Test and experiment the numerous and powerful features of Cisco IOS * Check quickly configurations to be deployed later on real routers. Of course, this emulator cannot replace a real router: you should be able to get a performance of about 1 kpps (depending on your host machine), to be compared to the 100 kpps delivered by a NPE-100 (the oldest NPE model). So, it is simply a complementary tool to real labs for administrators of Cisco networks or people wanting to pass their CCNA/CCNP/CCIE exams. –
